  1. Thomas Crapper is often cited as being the inventor of the flush toilet. Where this may be amusing and significant, it is not actually true. Although he didn’t invent the flush toilet, he did invent the ball-cock to make it a more automatic version. Hence the slang term “Going to the {Insert The Last Name Here}” Also, the term for going to the toilet that shares the first four letters of his surname, or family name, that term came out 15-20 years before his company took off. The term originally came from “Crapping Ken”.

    1. Yes, as a person named “John,” I’m quick to tell people that I think there should be a John in every building. No one EVER disagrees. Some even say, “Preferably on every FLOOR!”
